Updated information on H1N1 Flu Virus

Julian Union High School District has updated its procedures regarding the H1N1 flu virus based on recommendations by the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency

  • Students and staff who are not ill should come to school each day, including schools where an outbreak has occurred.

  • Students and staff with flu symptoms should stay home, and may return when fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication during those 24 hours. Please call the high school office at (760)765-0606 if your child is staying home due to illness.

  • Children with underlying health conditions (including asthma, immune system problems, neuromuscular disorders, diabetes, sickle cell anemia and pregnancy) who experience flu symptoms should contact their doctor, as they may be eligible for an anti-viral medication.

  • Read the attached letter reinforcing preventative measures to take both at home and at school, plus resources to educate students on staying well.
